Trip to Pop's

This weekend we visited Pop in Lynchburg for a long weekend. The weather was great so we were able to enjoy the view from his house and all of the outdoor activities. Pop has several apple, peach, plum and pear trees on his land. We took the girls over to the area and they helped us pick some fruit to snack on. They loved it, and couldn't get enough of the fresh fruit.
Here is a photo of Kennedy enjoying a fresh peach... yummy! She wouldn't let go of it and share, lucky there were plenty for Ashlyn to enjoy too.

Before and after their nap times, we were able to enjoy the pool in Pop's backyard. Ashlyn calls the pool "poola" so funny to hear her say it and point to the water. They both enjoyed jumping into the pool and made lots of big splashes in the water. After practicing a couple of times they were able to even jump into the pool without us holding their hands trusting that they would be cought by someone. They did great taking turns doing this and didn't try to jump in without us telling them to first. Whew.... glad that they listened to us, it will make pool time this summer alot less stressful!


Big Pop and Granny also came over one evening for a cookout dinner. Jeremy has taught the girls how to take off their shoes when they get into our sandbox at home. So, now whenever we are outside playing they want to take them off and then they try to put them back on. They have mastered the taking off part, but putting the shoes back on is a little harder. It is quite funny to watch them try. They not only try to put their shoes back on but if your shoes are off they will try to either wear them or put them back on your feet. Thanks Pop for the fun weekend, we will see you in a couple of weeks at the beach!
